After beveling the transom/hull joint, everything went together easy.

Forcing the issue with clamps as tried earlier resulted in a curve in the transom and a weird S-curve in the hull. Beveling the transom edge to match the approaching angle of the hull sides solved all those issues.

Sometimes the "help" has some good suggestions... Thanks Chris.
